Remember the Inner Child

How often do you think about the Inner Child? When I first started exploring my deeper feelings, I never gave a thought to my inner child. It was when I reached the sephirah Netzach, on the Tree of Life, that the focus was turned to the needs of the inner child and it proved to be a really cathartic stage in getting to know myself.

That well known saying "the Universe will provide" is very true. Our job is to make sure we recognise these opportunities and do something with them.

Time for Change?

As the current year comes to a close and a new one comes into force many people take this time to reassess and take stock of everything that is happening (or not happening) in their life. It’s easy to get swept along with preparations for the festive season and the hype and ‘busyness’ of it all. Then once the celebrations are over, and the decorations have come down, it’s back to normality and facing the stark reality of what ‘normal’ is. It can all seem a little flat. 

Do You Believe in Karma?

Do you believe in karma? The topic of karma was not something I had previously thought much about before I began studying Qabalah and the Tree of Life. But the more I looked into the concept of karma the more I realised that actually - for me - it made a lot of sense. I think that karma is generally considered to be a sort of punishment and therefore it can make us feel uncomfortable to think about. My understanding of karma and karmic conditions has changed, and grown, since I first began my own personal spiritual journey and although it often feels like 'tough love' I feel I would rather know what I need to pay attention to in my life, than not.

Introduction to Spirit Guides - Qabalah basics

This Practical Qabalah introduction to Spirit Guides explores what happens to us when we die and who these spiritual beings are that reside in the Astral Worlds.

Explore the Magic and Mystery of Tree of Life

Did you know that all of us are born with special soul functions and mottos for life?  And that each of us also has a Soul name that goes with us from life to life?

There is a vital force that directs the flow of creative energy down the path of the lightning flash - as shown on the Tree of Life - to manifest on earth.  It can be looked on as both personal and cosmic and is therefore closely associated with our own individual destiny and how this plays a part in the evolutionary flow of humanity as a whole.

As we advance spiritually we have the opportunity to begin to recognise that our own unique qualities - although small by comparison - are still an intrinsic part of the overall plan.

Fate or Destiny?

What is the difference between Fate and Destiny?  

Qabalah teaches us that Destiny is what we are destined to do this lifetime whether we are consciously aware of it or not.  It is what we have decided for ourselves before we are born, and the path we have chosen to walk this incarnation.  Destiny could be described as our own personal star; our own personal sun around which our life revolves.  It is the direction our soul is guiding us towards and for that to happen we must be a willing vehicle.

So, if Destiny is what we are here on earth to achieve .... what then, is Fate?  And what happens if the personality is not a willing vehicle?

The Tree of Life - A Personal Perspective coping with loss

Today is the 1st October 2014 and when I awoke this morning it was pouring with rain. The grey sky matched my mood - dull and heavy with tears. Last night I lost my beloved dog. He was nearly 15 and had been my constant companion from the age of 8 weeks. Of course it was on the cards - but I wasn't ready to lose my gorgeous boy. The choice was not mine so today is a day of grief and coming to terms with my loss. 

A few hours later - red-eyed and emotionally drained - I turn to the same spiritual tool that I have used many, many times when I needed something to help me accept and handle difficult times, the Tree of Life. 

To those familiar with my youtube videos and Isis website will be aware of how I began studying the practical Qabalah and Tree of Life many years ago.  I never set out to explore spiritual matters - I just wanted a bit of a hobby and thought Astrology might be interesting - and yet all these years later I can say, hand on heart, it is the only thing that throws light into the dark and doubting corners of my mind when life feels overwhelming. 

Problems still need to be resolved and grief will always have to run its course but the ancient teachings never, ever fail to lift me.  They bring a sense of peace and help take away feelings of futility. 

It is because of how the Tree of Life consistently helps me that I had the idea of putting the practical Qabalah workbooks together.  I wanted others to have the same opportunity as me to use this wonderful tool as a means of making sense of life and our purpose within it. 

I was one of the lucky ones to have been taught by Jenni Shell at the Mystery (and Qabalistic) School of Maat.  There were thousands of us, and I am sure they would agree that the time we spent studying was incredibly special.  When Maat closed its doors and evolved into The Order of the White Lion I felt convinced that I had to do something to make these teachings available to a wider audience. 

There is no point in studying any kind of spiritual doctrine unless it can be put to practical use, and the Qabalistic Tree of Life works for me.

This morning there are candles and incense burning and a meditation playing quietly in the background and I thought the proof is in the pudding.  If I can take what I have learnt and put it into practice when I am feeling like this then it must be worth sharing.

The rain has long gone and the sun is shining and warm.  

It is difficult to find anything positive about losing someone or something you love, but perhaps if I can point the way and help another person to find some comfort using this spiritual tool then it is a little bit of light shining through an otherwise dark day for me.

Which Spiritual Path to Choose?

With so many spiritual options to choose from, how do you know which path is right for You?

The 'Right Path' will ultimately lead to happiness, fulfilment and peace. It is the path that is naturally tailored to suit the individual, and in line with the Spiritual Will.

The Tree is a tool that you can use in everyday life.  It is like a road map that guides you as you travel through one area of life into another. With so many faiths, beliefs and religions all purporting to help you on your journey it can be a little bewildering particularly to those just starting out.

The practical Qabalah offers a down to earth approach to raising spiritual awareness and initially begins by helping you to find more effective ways of managing your life and handling everyday situations, events and people. The journey starts at a very basic level and includes looking at your attitude towards money.

There are no rights or wrongs.  However, many people find themselves enslaved to money rather than being in control of this energy of the Earth Plane.

Money is your means of exchange. Successfully managing money is often one of the most difficult challenges many people face.

For some though, perhaps it is not the energy of the Earth Plane that proves to be the most challenging. Perhaps instead, it is the energy of the emotional plane and getting caught up in repetitive cycles of behaviour and negative habit patterns.

The journey ascending the Tree of Life gradually takes you deeper and deeper into all the different aspects within your life and personality.  It becomes incredibly exciting to discover more about who you really are, how you think and what you truly want.

As the teachings progress they help you to understand personal karma; the purpose of your incarnation and the process of passing over, as well as explain about preparations for the next life.

The quest for spiritual enlightenment is continuous and it is easy to get distracted and lose your thread but the route mapped out on the Tree of Life provides you with a solid structure from which to work so your efforts are less likely to dissipate and lose momentum. 

There is order throughout the universe; throughout the teachings, and that order can be applied very simply in a practical way in your everyday life.

Many people, when first introduced to the teachings, are surprised by the simplicity of it all and impressed at how relevant and useful they are. As your awareness grows so you start to find better ways of living that work for you and approach life with fresh eyes and healthier attitudes. It is never about judgements or making yourself confirm to social doctrines that don't sit comfortably. It is about freedom of choice and educated decisions.

There is no point in trying to be something you are not. You will get exhausted with all the effort that takes. Besides, Qabalah is all about being the 'real You'. So you don't have to try to mould yourself into a shape that simply does not fit.

We are all different. We are all at a different level of evolvement.  We each have a different agenda and take on life. What Qabalah does is to get you to look at all those different aspects within your Self and understand where you need to make adjustments to improve. Thus, happiness naturally becomes a way of life. It is about being self-sufficient. Able to heal and motivate Self, to be creative yet not reliant on validation from others; less concerned about the opinions of others.

Sometimes, when it comes to looking at ourselves we can't always see the woods for the trees but Qabalah has a wonderful way of drawing things towards us that we need to look at and then we have the choice of doing something about it, or not.

So, during those time when you are tempted to query: "Is there anyone there?"

Remind yourself that the answer is: YES .......... there is.

There are other worlds beyond the veil of the earthly plane - watching, and waiting for humanity to recognise them. Filled with energies the same as you and me, a combination of less evolved personalities and more advanced Beings, that are continuing their journey through life, but on the other side.  On another level of existence.

What Can Qabalah do for You?

Qabalah is a wealth of information that promotes a Way of Life that is:

                                and in line with personal and spiritual needs.  

A life that is in tune with the natural energies of the individual and in alignment with the Spiritual Will.

This ancient wisdom helps us to see the bigger, spiritual picture and to raise ourselves beyond the level of the personality.

The personality is just a vehicle through which the soul - the mediator between the Spiritual Will and Personality Will - can complete its mission on Earth.

Qabalah can help us to become a more effective vehicle, because a personality that spends it's life trapped in unproductive cycles of behaviour, negative attitudes and damaged feelings, is of little use to the Soul.

The aim is to wake up latent talents and use the personalities' creative potential.  Everyone has a function in life, however most people are unaware of what that function is or how to perform it in everyday life. 

Qabalah helps us to view life in a completely different way and to ensure the personality is an asset to the soul and not a liability. 

Throughout the Journey we are reminded that there are no Rights or Wrongs.  It is not for us to cast Judgement on Others.  Everyone has their own journey.  Everyone has their own Karma to address, and everyone has to find their Own Spiritual Truths.   The path that may be right for You, may be Wrong for someone else.  The emphasis is on working on yourself and finding out what is Right for You.  

Life will still happen.  There are likely to be disappointments as well as times of great joy.  

This is all part of the journey.  

Gradually, as we work our way up and down the Tree of Life the times of sorrow become less acute and disappointment transforms into understanding and acceptance. 

As the Will of the Personality aligns - or marries up - with the Will of the Soul we start to see the positive results in our life. 

We begin to make choices that are more in line with who we really are and what we really need.  Our life takes on a face and shape we enjoy.

That is what the ancient wisdom of Qabalah can do for everyone.

Laws of the Universe

Love is the strongest force in the Universe.
