'Gifts of the Universe'

'Gifts of the Universe' is a guided meditation designed to help you clarify what you 'want' and 'need' in life. It forms part of the teachings that relate to the sephirah Malkuth on the Tree of Life and can be found in the Practical Qabalah Malkuth workbook which is available from The Order of the White Lion website.

Remember the Inner Child

How often do you think about the Inner Child? When I first started exploring my deeper feelings, I never gave a thought to my inner child. It was when I reached the sephirah Netzach, on the Tree of Life, that the focus was turned to the needs of the inner child and it proved to be a really cathartic stage in getting to know myself.

Malkuth - Gateway to hidden dimensions

On the Tree of Life Malkuth is often referred to as the Gateway to hidden dimensions. It is the entrance and starting point to all other paths and temples and the place where all journeys conclude. For it represents the physical plane and the return to the world of matter.

A Spiritual Journey in Stages

The mystical teachings of Qabalah are laid out on the Tree of Life. The Tree of Life is like a road map. Wherever you may find yourself in life - whatever the situation - you can 'map' it on the Tree. Then, through working with the teachings of Qabalah, you can help yourself to find answers to life's challenges and discover better, more effective ways of living your life in line with the true nature of who you are, and develop your own creative power that can ultimately be used to help others.

To help get you started it's useful to know that the spiritual journey ascending the Tree of Life is broken down into stages:

1. Preparation (for the journey); 2. Beginning; 3. Travelling; 4. Arriving

The sphere of Malkuth, situated at the base of the Tree of Life, represents the physical, material plane. Malkuth is the first area to explore and it is through this sephirah that the rest of the Tree of Life is accessed.

Getting to grips with the basics and the teachings of Malkuth help to give you a strong foundation upon which to work as you go deeper into the rest of the Tree. 

The focus in Malkuth is on prioritising your life and learning how to manage it more effectively. It is also where you meet Sandalphon, the Archangel and Guardian of Humanity, and connect with the inner worlds of existence and elemental kingdoms.

Power of Subconscious Mind

In the early stages of studying Qabalah and the Tree of Life a lot of emphasis is placed on the importance of the subconscious mind and understanding how this powerful force works. 

Everything in Universe is Energy .....

Qabalah teaches us that everything in the universe is a form of energy, and all energy belongs to the universe.  

Angels, archangels and elemental beings are also energy. Over the aeons of time - to help identify and relate to them - man has built imagery around them. 

The first step that begins the process of studying the practical Qabalah takes place at the base of the Tree of Life. The Tree of Life is our way of making sense of life and the universe. The Qabalah teachings are mapped out on the Tree of Life making it an invaluable tool for spiritual direction and personal growth. Malkuth is the sphere that is situated at the base. It is known as The Kingdom and can easily be recognised - when looking at a picture of the Tree of Life - by the four colours: ochre, russet red, olive green and black.  

In guided meditation the journey begins with an introduction to the 4 Worlds of Existence, the Elemental Kingdoms, the Archangels and Angelic Hosts, and reveals how we can connect more easily with their energy.  

The Tree of Life consists of many levels. There are worlds within worlds. Each area is overseen by an Archangel and supported by the angelic hosts. 

The Archangel of Malkuth - also known as the Guardian of Humanity - is Sandalphon. 

Inside the ancient oak Temple of Malkuth the Archangel Sandalphon waits to reveal to you a drawing board upon which the design behind our existence and physical manifestation is laid out - the design of the Great Plan for Humanity.

As you venture deeper into the Tree of Life and study other areas, you will be introduced to more aspects of energy, and offered insights into how to apply the teachings in a practical way to help with daily issues. 

The sphere of Malkuth focuses on physical and material energy, including money. The teachings enable the individual to examine how they handle the energy of the physical plane.

The next sephirah to explore is Yesod. The teachings of Yesod raise awareness of the power of the subconscious mind and how it influences emotional energy. Yesod can be identified on the Tree of Life by the colour violet and number 9.

Shepherd or Sheep?

The ancient teachings of Qabalah can help us to take command of our life rather than be led and controlled by others.  

With the Tree of Life to guide us, the journey begins on the ground floor in Malkuth - the sephirah of the Earth Plane.  

It is here that we explore what we want, what we need and - with our feet firmly on the ground - learn how to manipulate the energy of the physical plane, to be the Shepherd - not the sheep - Master and Manager of our own Life.
